IDEXX SDMA is a reliable marker for kidney disease, that is both sensitive and specific, increasing on average when there is a 40% reduction in GFR due to cancer or other conditions. Cancer patients with increased SDMA should be carefully managed since structural kidney disease is often present that results in CKD.
Can SDMA be falsely elevated?
