What is an AUX track?
In the DAW, an auxiliary track is a track that doesn’t have any recorded audio associated with it. All the other tracks will have audio on them. You cannot record onto an aux track. What you can do with an aux track is insert a reverb plug-in. You can insert any plug-in you like, but reverb is the most commonly used.

Most sound desks include one or more auxiliary channels (often referred to as aux channels for short). This feature allows you to send a secondary feed of an input channel’s audio signal to another destination, independent of the channel’s main output.

An “Aux Send” is a type of output used on most live sound and recording mixers. It allows you to create an “auxiliary” mix in which you have individual level control over each input channel on your mixer to your “Aux Send” output.

How does the AUX work?
An aux-in (or auxiliary-in) socket in your car is a 3.5mm jack into which you can plug anything that has a standard headphone connection. It sends sound to the multimedia system, enabling you to ‘stream’ music from a device through the car’s speakers.
How do you arrange Buss in logic?
- Sure you can.
- Right click on an AUX bus’ label in the mixer and select “Create/Select Arrange Track” (Ctrl-T).
- This will place an AUX bus on the Arrange window. You can move it anywhere you want.
- Make sure that the Mixer window is set to display “Arrange”.
Whats the difference between AUX and bus?
(An auxiliary track is a track that doesn’t contain audio clips. It can only receive and send audio signal. It’s a middleman, of sorts.) Buses are used to group the audio of multiple tracks together whereas sends are used to apply effects to tracks.

- Insert one end of the AUX cable into the AUX input on the bottom of your speaker.
- Insert the other end of the AUX cable into the AUX output port on your audio device.
